LexiCarta is built on open linguistic data, generously shared by the people who made it.
Data
The structure of every map, in every language, comes from Princeton WordNet 3.0. Each other language adds its own words from a wordnet published through the Open Multilingual Wordnet project (Francis Bond and Kyonghee Paik, A survey of wordnets and their licenses, 2012; Francis Bond and Ryan Foster, Linking and extending an open multilingual wordnet, ACL 2013).

Translated definitions
Where a language's wordnet has no definition for a concept, we show Princeton WordNet's English definition translated automatically and mark it "translated automatically" wherever it appears. These translations are derived from Princeton WordNet and are under its licence. Languages: العربية, Español, Français, Italiano, 中文.
Reusing our data
The graph data behind every map carries the list of its sources and their licences, so anyone reusing it can meet their terms. Data from a share-alike source stays under that licence when you reuse it.
